COMMUNICATIONS

Developing a close relationship wth the media is essential. Returning phone calls immediately, speaking on camera and researching information goes a long way when it is your turn to promote a story. Of course, we want all of the news to be positive, but when things don't go as planned it is important to have someone ready to talk to the media during a crisis. Take a look at some of my news clips.

Employee Communication

Los Alamos National Laboratory

Letting our employees know about what commuting options they have is critical to changing behavior.  Since I've joined the Lab, I have given over 100 presentations to work groups and created a series of videos to explain to employees how they can get to work without using their own vehicle.  As part of this effort, our team also provides customized trip planning services.

In 2014, I was asked to co-host the Best Places to Work Awards Luncheon at the Albuquerque Convention Center.  This was an excellent opportunity to educate more than 400 people about alternative commuting choices and encourage employers to develop policies to promote other options than driving alone.  We were also able to recognize those businesses in the community that are already making a difference and offering these benefits for their employees.
